Sheikh Nawawi Al -Bantani was born in Tanara and STIF An Nawawi Tanara
STIF Syeikh Nawawi Tanara is taken from the name of Sheikh Nawawi al-Bantani who was born in Tanara Serang Banten (1813-1897 AD), who was a great scholar from Banten who worked in the 14th or late 19th century AD.
He was the Imam of the Grand Mosque and a Professor of Islam, so he was nicknamed Al-Imam Wa Al-Fahm Al-Mudaqqiq (an imam who has a deep scientific understanding). He was also given the title As-Sayyid Al-Ulama Al-Hijaz. He is highly regarded for his expertise in the field of jurisprudence. He is known for his extensive knowledge and productivity in producing written works. Sheikh Nawawi al-Bantani has produced hundreds of titles covering a wide range of scientific disciplines, from monotheism, fiqh, tasawwuf, to tafsir, in fact some of his works are still used as guides and references in Islamic boarding schools to this day.
His most famous fiqh works are "Uqud al-Lujain" (concerning the rights and obligations of husband and wife) and the book Nihayah Azzain which is based on Zainuddin al-Malibari's book Qurrah al-Ain.
2016
Obtain Operational Permit
In 2016, it obtained an operational permit from the Director General of Islamic Education, Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia with the issuance of Decree No. 603 concerning the Establishment of the Sheikh Nawawi Tanara Fiqh Science College on February 1, 2016.
Prof. Dr. K.H. Ma’ruf Amin sebagai penggagas pendirian STIF Syentra yang juga merupakan pengasuh dari Pesantren An-Nawawi tanara , beliau sangat mengagumi kedalaman ilmu dari Syeikh Nawawi al-Bantani, yang merupakan ‘ulama Nasional dan juga Internasional. Sebagaimana karya-karya nya dijadikan rujukan di mancanegara seperti di Al-Azhar Mesir. dengan melihat tantangan kini dan mengantisipasi peluang ke depan, di pandang perlu mengambil langkah untuk melanjutkan sekaligus mengembangkan tradisi keilmuan yang diwariskan oleh Syeikh Nawawi al-Bantani terutama potret intelektualnya di bidang ilmu fiqih. Salah satu wujudnya adalah dengan mendirikan lembaga Pendidikan Tinggi Islam yang diberi nama “Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Fiqih Syeikh Nawawi Tanara.”
Prof. Dr. KH Ma'ruf Amin's hope is that STIF Syentra, as the first Islamic jurisprudence school in Indonesia, will be able to produce a cadre of qualified scholars in the field of jurisprudence with comprehensive insight. The conceptual paradigm built as the foundation of STIF Syentra is that this educational institution has an interest in providing qualified human resources in developing human resources who are capable of developing contemporary-minded jurisprudence in the future and are able to compete to fill professional spaces in fields that require skills. technical Islamic law. However, these contemporary insights do not leave behind the intellectual depth of classical jurisprudence.
